In 2006, after the wildly successful DVD releases of Seasons 1-5, Twentieth Century Fox wanted to release The Simpsons: Seasons 6-10 as a limited edition collector's set with custom designed packaging that would really wow consumers. At KO Creative we pitched dozens of ideas and the one Fox approved was my concept of packaging each season in a unique outer case that matched one of the five main characters. We started with Homer/Season 6, and after months of building prototypes and working with Simpsons' approved artists, the "Homer Head" hit the stores and caused an immediate uproar.
